Network of Nightmares

Dare to enter the DIT Network Section, where we keep the Email System and Internet Services for the Navajo Nation Government lurking beneath the surface. Among our many eerie duties are the setup and maintenance of servers in the depths of the digital abyss. The administration of these haunted servers includes summoning usernames and passwords from beyond, updating definition files to ward off weekly cyber-spirits, and providing web hosting services to tribal departments trapped in the web.

Our spectral crew manages an email server, anti-virus server (protecting against digital ghouls), authentication server, web server, and several tribal department servers, along with the internal DNS / AD / DHCP / WINS server and the external DNS server, all while making sure they don’t fall under a dark spell.

But the terror doesn’t stop there! Our Network Section also installs, re-installs, and configures desktop software and hardware, reviving machines from the grave. We confront network issues head-on, perform dark rituals to change or add network equipment, and keep wide area and local area networks from becoming ghost towns. Beware the remote layer 2 connections to haunted places like Tuba City, Kayenta, Shiprock, Crownpoint, Chinle, Aneth, and Dilkon.

We even work with the National Crime Information Center for Law Enforcement's seven districts, ensuring their lines remain secure and free from the clutches of the unknown. Finally, we set up WiFi wireless equipment and provide ghastly gigabit backbone connectivity in Window Rock to keep the network alive… for now.
